== What is this? ==

Passing little or no urine for 12 hours or more means the kidneys are under severe stress. In a pregnant woman, this can happen because of very severe vomiting and dehydration, severe pre-eclampsia affecting the kidneys, or a serious body infection (sepsis). The lips and skin feel very dry, the eyes look sunken, and the woman may feel dizzy or too weak to stand.

This is not something that can be managed with oral fluids at home. She needs fluids given directly into a vein (IV drip) at the PHC or CHC. The sooner she gets there, the less damage occurs. Do not wait to see if passing urine improves on its own — it will not.

<!-- REVIEW: "No urine for 12+ hours" is a practical field danger sign retained faithful to the printed card. It is not an explicit WHO PCPNC antenatal danger-sign threshold. WHO uses a urine-output threshold only as a MgSO4 monitoring parameter (<100 mL/4 hrs). The card presents this appropriately as a practical "go to facility" sign for severe dehydration/AKI/pre-eclampsia. -->

{{Action Steps|
* Give very small sips of ORS if she can swallow — this is a temporary measure only
* '''Tell your ASHA immediately'''
* '''Go to the PHC or CHC the same day — she needs an IV drip'''
* Do not assume this will resolve by itself
}}
{{Referral Pathway
| step1 = 📞 108
| step2 = ASHA
| step3 = PHC / CHC (IV drip same day)
}}

{{Risk Window|
When a pregnant woman has passed no urine for 12 hours and cannot drink enough fluids — this cannot be managed at home. She needs an IV drip at the PHC or CHC the same day. '''If this is combined with severe swelling, headache, or fits — go to the CHC immediately and call 108.'''
